News/views bites Sailun Canada has new website Sailun Tires Canada has launched a Canadian website, sailuntires.ca. The website's extensive content, includes information about passenger, light truck and truck tires. The site also can be viewed on any mobile device. Double Coin Spanish website Double Coin Holdings Ltd., through its China Manufacturers Alliance LLC (CMA) marketing arm, has launched a Spanish language website (see the new site at www.Espanol. AAPEX adds education sessions The Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), Nov. 5-7, 2013, in Las Vegas, has expanded its Learning Forum to include 36 free education sessions. Global Tire Expo exceeds 2012 The Tire Industry Association (TIA) reports the number of registered exhibitors for the 2013 Global Tire Expo – Powered by TIA (GTE) has exceeded the 2012 total. To date, 255 tire companies, 40 more than last year, are signed up to exhibit. GTE takes place in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show Nov. 5-8, 2013, in Las Vegas. 300 stores for Love's Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has reached the milestone of 300 store locations. Its newest travel stop is located in Lenoir City, Tenn. DENSO appoints Williams DENSO Products and Services Americas Inc., has appointed David Williams manager of the Strategic Planning department in Long Beach, Calif. New president at Dynamic wholesale division Dynamic Tire Corp. has appointed John Overing president of the Dynamic Tire Wholesale and Distribution Business division. In his new job, Overing says he will use his experience, passion and skills in both consumer packaged goods and industrial products to beneft and service the clients and suppliers of Dynamic Tire Corp. Overing has more than 13 years of experience in the tire industry. John Overing Pirelli's global CEO to appeal conviction Pirelli & Cie SpA CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera was found guilty of industrial espionage in Milan on July 18, 2013. He plans to appeal the conviction. The case against Provera centers around his receiving stolen information. His legal team said the word of one of the witnesses for the prosecution is unreliable. Tronchetti Provera declared his innocence in an offcial statement. "With regard to the sentence, I cannot but underline that I was condemned for having reported those who were spying on us. I will appeal, convinced that the truth will emerge. The facts are clear and have also been confrmed by the lawyers Mucciarelli and Chiappetta, who are under investigation only for having confrmed what in effect happened. Sure of the correctness of my behavior, I will continue to fght so that this is recognized in the courts," he said. MTD August 2013
