Bites Tire Kingdom unveils its 'shop of the future' T BC Corp.'s Tire Kingdom Service Centers is rolling out a "shop of the future" concept, and the first store featuring the new look is open in West Palm Beach, Fla. "Our shop of the future concept was designed with our customers in mind," says TBC CEO and President Erik Olsen. "Focus groups, customer surveys and feedback helped us to design a space that was comfortable for customers, ideal for associates and now affords us the opportunity to exceed customer expectations at a beautiful location that is state-of-the-art and conve- niently located on Northlake Boulevard." e new Tire Kingdom store features eight service bays, as well as a state-of- the-art business area, digital feature wall, enhanced conces- sion area, large open view to the back shop, upgraded broadband connectivity and digital inspection equipment. ere are nearly 190 Tire Kingdom locations throughout Florida. The Donald B. Rice Tire Co. Inc., which does busi- ness as Rice Tire., has ac- quired Central Tire Co. of Verona, Va. Central Tire was founded by Guy Westhafer in 1945. The company has been run by his sons, Terry and Tommy, for the last four decades. Central Tire served customers in Virginia and parts of Penn- sylvania, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia through a retail store, commercial store and retread plant. The purchase gives Rice Tire 11 locations and its second retread plant. Rice Tire was founded by Don- ald B. Rice in Frederick, Md., in 1956. Now into its fourth generation of leadership, the company serves commercial and retail customers in Mary- land, Virginia, Pennsylva- nia and Washington, D.C. Rice Tire buys Central Tire L ooking for a go-to source for any career or talent search in the tire industry? Tire Talent Founder Mike Cioffi has created it. e answer: It's a free job board that both manufacturers and tire dealers can use to post jobs, and anyone searching for work can use to find a job. Cioffi operates Tire Talent, a search firm that's focused on matching employees with employers in the tire and automotive industry. He says he's learned there's a need for one spot to serve as a hub for all job-related searches and openings. He receives weekly inquiries for technicians, counter sales professionals and other positions that fall outside the primary scope of his search firm's business. Cioffi's firm typically focuses on match- ing jobs with employees for exempt-level positions, but he sees as a springboard to serving the entire industry, particularly in tire dealerships and automotive shops where much of the demand is tech-related.
