The Bandag BDM3 is designed to last longer and provide better traction and cut and chip resistance than the previous model, the BDM2. The BDM3 for the drive position features a non-directional tread pattern that delivers traction in various on- and off-highway environments and helps reduce mounting complexity. The tire's stone rejection technology helps to increase tire casing life; and a proprietary tread com- pound offers a 10% improvement in tread wear life compared to its predecessor. BRIDGESTONE AMERICAS INC. www.bandag.com Alliance designs snow tire for MFWA tractors Alliance has introduced the Alliance 551 Multiuse Professional, a steel-belted radial designed for modified front-wheel drive assist (MFWA) tractors operating in snow and ice. The Alliance 551 features an R-3 block tread pattern with variable-depth sipes that provide extra biting surfaces as well as directional channels to clear snow and slush from the tread surface. Steel belts provide a broad footprint for improved traction and stability and boost fuel efficiency by reducing rolling resistance. The combination of steel belts and precisely engineered lugs ensures a stable, quiet ride with a dependable grip in the snow. The Alliance 551 is rated for speeds up to 40 mph (65 km/h). ALLIANCE TIRE GROUP INC. www.atgtire.com Continental adds to commercial light truck lineup Continental has added the 16-inch Conti LAR 3 to its com- mercial light truck tire portfolio. The Conti LAR 3 is available in three sizes: LT225/75R16, LT235/85R16, and LT245/75R16. The all-position, all-steel radial tire is designed to withstand the rigors of regional routes and speeds of more than 90 mph under max load. In addition, its all-steel radial casing is optimized for retreadability. Other features of the Conti LAR 3 include cut-and-chip resistant tread compounds to with- stand high scrub conditions, optimal handling with a pattern engineered to minimize stone retention and maximize wet traction, and fuel efficiency coupled with industry leading mileage. CONTINENTAL TIRE THE AMERICAS LLC www.continental-truck.com Cardone offers a full heavy- duty brake program The new heavy-duty brake program from Cardone includes air disc calipers, brake pads, rotors, hardware kits and a patented guide pin grease kit. The full line program is designed to provide all the components needed to replace the entire brake system for the rapidly growing market of Class 7 and 8 vehicles such as trucks, tractors, trailers, school buses, transit buses and motor coaches. The company says the patented guide pin grease kit can extend the life of the caliper, which reduces maintenance costs. CARDONE INDUSTRIES INC. www.cardone.com Roadmaster RM351 HD leaves a big footprint The new Roadmaster RM351 HD from Cooper comes in two sizes: 11R22.5 and 11R24.5, in load range H. Engineered for mixed-service applications such as construction, logging and mining operations, the tire is designed for both on- and off- road driving. The Roadmaster RM351 HD is a full inch wider than its predecessor, the RM300 HH, with a 20% larger foot- print. The company says that coupled with its deep 32/32nds tread depth, the RM351 HD provides up to 25% more miles to removal — depending upon the application. Features include five lugs that have an open pattern to minimize stone holding while enhancing traction. Stone ejector ledges, coupled with angled grooves, also help prevent stone drilling. COOPER TIRE & RUBBER CO. www.coopertire.com LiftWise has a wheel handler for large wheels and tires The 6500 Series Wheel Handler from LiftWise is designed to safely transport and change large tires. Using an integrated pallet truck for familiar operations and ma- neuverability, the standard unit can handle steel compaction wheels with diameters of 55 to 79 inches. It can be raised or lowered 20 inches and has a maximum capacity of 6,500 pounds. A tethered control allows for a single operator. Wheels or tires can be lifted, rotated 38 degrees in both directions, and shifted 3 inches to either side with the hand-held control. The control also adjusts the upper and lower jaws to accommodate different wheel sizes. DIVERSIFIED PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT www.lift-wise.com C T D C o m m e r c i a l l y V i a b l e
